Shark Attack On Victorian Coast
Fisherman flown to hospital.
A fisherman who was bitten by a shark off the Victorian coast has steered himself to shore in his boat and is being flown to hospital.
The man in his 70s was fishing on his boat by himself off Queenscliff, east of Geelong, when a shark bit him on the hand just before 11am, Ambulance Victoria says.
His hand is seriously injured.
'He drove his boat two kilometres back to the marina where paramedics were waiting for him," senior paramedic Brad Pole says in a statement on Tuesday.
The man is being flown to The Alfred hospital in a serious condition.
