QLD Summer To Kick Off With EXTREME Heatwave

The first days of Summer will be absolute scorchers, with an extreme heatwave hitting Queensland from today. 

Inland, around Birdsville, will be the first to feel it. The weather bureau's predicting temperatures to soar up to 43°. 

The South East will cop it Friday through to Sunday - Brisbane should swelter through maximums around 35° while Ipswich, Beaudesert and Toowoomba will be closer to 40°. 

Forecasters have described it as an 'extreme' heatwave, and say we haven't felt anything this severe in several years.

  • Toowoomba 37° C
  • Warwick 39° C
  • Brisbane 35° C
  • Ipswich 38° C
