Murder Charge Dropped Against NZ Road Rage Accused
The murder charge against New Zealand man accused pushing another man into the path of a garbage truck during a road rage argument has been dropped.
Tamate Henry Heke is accused of pushing 50 year old Shane Merrigan into the path of an oncoming truck as the pair faced off on the roadside at Eight Mile Plains on December 1 last year.
Heke's faced court today and the Department of Public Prosecution has confirmed it has dropped the murder charge. Instead, Heke has been ordered to stand trial in the Supreme Court for manslaughter and unlawful striking causing death.
