NSW Guy Sues Domino's After Waiting 18 Months For His Delivery
He Was Pretty .... Cheesed Off.
One hour is a long time to wait for a pizza, but could you imagine waiting 18 BLOODY MONTHS?
Sydney Lawyer Tim Driscoll ordered $37.35 worth of pizza and sides for a party from Fairy Meadow Domino's on Anzac Day last year.
When it didn't show up he called the store, which apologised, saying that they had a backlog of orders, and that he would receive a refund.
Driscoll never got his refund, and after chasing the store about it for a year, decided to take legal action.
He asked for $9000 in damages, but was instead awarded $1203.27 to cover legal bills and the refund he was promised.
Domino's today released a statement about the incident.
"We are disappointed and embarrassed to hear that we have let down a pizza loving customer. We can confirm we provided free pizza vouchers to our customer at the time of the incident but we clearly could have and should have done more. Our aim is to exceed our customers’ expectations and in this instance we let him down. We are working to make it up to him and have reached out to our customer this morning to make amends and to ensure he is not out of pocket for any expenses incurred. At Domino’s if a customer is not completely satisfied with their experience, we will replace and or refund their order. Obviously in this instance we have failed the customer and we will work on making the necessary improvements to ensure this doesn’t happen again."
